Rules & Regulations

Effective date: [to be set on publish]

These platform-wide conduct rules apply to everyone using Hostel Manager — organization owners, staff, and students. They govern how the platform itself may be used, and are separate from any individual hostel's own house rules for its residents (which each hostel sets and publishes on its own apply page).

Draft Notice: This document accurately describes how Hostel Manager operates. It has not yet been finalized by legal counsel — please have your legal team review prior to binding enforcement.

1. Account conduct

Credentials & Identity
  • Don't share your login credentials with anyone else, or use another person's account.
  • Don't impersonate another person or organization.
  • Keep your contact details (email, phone) accurate — they're how we and your organization reach you.

2. Prohibited uses

Prohibited Conduct

You may not use Hostel Manager to:

  • Access, or attempt to access, data belonging to an organization you're not a member of.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the platform's underlying code or bulk data outside the export tools we provide.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user through notices, complaints, or any other feature.
  • Enter false information — a fee record, a complaint, an attendance mark — knowing it to be false.
  • Use another resident's personal data (contact details, fee history, complaint records) for anything other than the purpose it was collected for.
  • Attempt to disrupt or overload the platform (e.g. automated abuse of any endpoint).

3. Responsibility for content

Workspace Content

An organization is responsible for the content its staff enter — notices, complaint records, fee descriptions, and anything else typed into the platform on its behalf. We don't review this content before it's visible to the students it's addressed to.

4. Consequences of violating these rules

Enforcement

Depending on severity, a violation may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or termination of an organization's workspace, consistent with our Terms & Conditions. We'll generally try to contact the organization's Owner first, except where immediate action is needed to protect other users' data or safety.

5. Reporting a violation

If you believe someone is misusing the platform, contact us at support@hostelmanager.tractzo.com or +91 9588078913. Please include as much detail as you can (which organization, what happened, when).
